My project modernizes the traditional mashrabeyeh as a versatile sun control system. It consists of four panels, each adorned with distinct geometric patterns. These patterns vary in size, allowing users to layer them strategically to regulate sunlight. The mechanism facilitates easy panel selection and arrangement, ensuring flexibility in light management. Crafted from wood, the design pays homage to its historical roots while integrating contemporary usability. This reinterpretation preserves the cultural essence of the mashrabeyeh while enhancing its functionality in modern architectural settings, offering a tactile and visually engaging solution to daylight modulation.
